Weight Loss Diets – Weight Loss Crazes That Didn’t Work
We’ve all heard the ridiculous claims of some weight loss diets and perhaps you have even been taken in by some of them. When you are desperate to lose weight, it is easy to be fooled by some outlandish claims that promise you the figure that you want within a week.
The true path to weight loss is slightly more complicated. It involves a lot of support and encouragement and some expert guidance. You need a balanced but controlled diet that you are able to maintain. You need super healthy food houjicha tea drinks to ensure that you are getting all the nutrients that you need and which are only made from natural ingredients.
Here are some weight loss fads that you should avoid.
Diets that focus on one food
You have must be heard of the ‘cabbage diet or the ‘tangerine diet’? Eat nothing but these for a week and you will miraculously lose weight! Well, yes you probably will but how sustainable is that diet? Can you spend the rest of your life eating only cabbage? The answer is ‘no you can’t’ and that is for two reasons. The first is that cabbage cannot supply you with all the carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals that you need. The second is that you simply will not be able to sustain this type of diet because it is not varied enough. You will get bored and will crave a sugary snack. Eventually, you will give in and that will be the end of the diet.
If your diet never allows the foods that you love then steer clear of it. All foods can fit into a healthy diet, even chips. It is just a case of limiting your intake and knowing when to award yourself with some treats. A good diet must try to avoid the denial-binge cycle that is so unhealthy. A diet that restricts you to one food type or group can never do this adequately.
Extreme detox diets
Some of these sound like types of torture and punishment rather than diets. Do you really want to put your body through liver flushes, colonics, and hormone injections? Many of these are of questionable efficacy and others are downright dangerous! Your liver does not need to be cleaned. Your body can do that all by itself. If you stick to natural food from natural ingredients for a week or so the body will naturally eliminate toxins without any need for harsh purging regimes.
You could even end up doing more harm than good. You could damage the delicate balance of chemicals within the body and damage your metabolism.
Fasting and very low-calorie weight loss diets
This is potentially a very dangerous way to diet. Also, it does not work. Your body thinks that it is being starved and as soon as you start eating again it stores energy in the form of fat and so you put on weight.
As you fast, your body breaks down fat, fluid, and muscle to get the energy you need but you only put fat back on. This is the last thing that you need!
